Thank you!! |
| Thank you to Aunty Jackie who sent round pictures of our jewellery to colleagues at Kids Inc! Thank you to Aunty Belinda who also sent round the photos to colleagues at News of the World. We're grateful to both organizations for sponsoring us in this way. Thank you Paris for sending the photos on facebook to all of her friends, we love you Paris!! We've made nearly £40 thanks to people from both organizations ordering jewellery! Hopefully more to come this week... We'll then be sending photos of all of our new jewellery to close friends and family... We are thinking of organizing a jewellery party during the first week of June as well... it would mean making loads more stock but it should be great fun and hopefully raise some extra funds! UPDATE |
| We haven't updated the news portion of the website lately, but we've been busy trying to juggle fund raisers and our growing revision timetables for our upcoming exams. Recently we have been continuing to fund raise by doing various sales at both school and church. Meanwhile, we have been helping our team leader (a teacher who is coming with us to Namibia) to organize group events, fund raising and bonding exercises, including group bowling and a fashion show in which Charlotte and I modeled some of the prom dresses on show with other members of the World Challenge exploration group and other students. In January our team leaders (Mr. Jolly and Miss Adenaike) split the whole World Challenge team up, half and half to go on two separate trips to Buxton for a practice run. (some of us had exams at different times) and so Charlotte and i went with Miss Adenaike and six other students to Buxton where we met Tom, our Buxton guide, and he told us what we would be doing. We ended up with just £27.50 to spend on food for ten people over the three days, and Charlotte was the bursar. Another student and I shopped and we managed to get by with enough food to eat and snack on, with leftovers. We got accustomed to camping and setting up the tents etc on the first day, before camping before our long hike through the hills the next day. Although it was tiring we managed it in good time and got the first pick of the campsite when we got there. After dinner we camped out again, all of us wishing it was finally Sunday when we could have a hot cooked meal, in the heat instead of in a cold slight enclosure. It was an amazing experience and made Charlotte and I even more determined to get to Namibia and raise the money. Having tackled the fitness and determination sides of things, we now look forward to being able to work with everyone. Something we're sure will be easy after bonding in Buxton. So far we have raised enough money for one of us to go to Namibia and now we need to step up the pace. Since we will be on study leave in a month, we were thinking of using our break times between revising to make some jewellery. We've now started to plan more sales and even some more group fund raising activities. Bronwyn [Submitted by thetwins] |
